Who is the course suitable for?

This course is suitable for those working at a Strategic and Operational level in Management, Supervisory or Leadership roles within Health and Social Care Settings. The course has been specifically designed and developed to provide a Qualification for those who have a leadership role or responsibility for managing staff.

Course Content

The Leadership and Management in Care Services course consists of 4 mandatory  units and 4 optional units that are specifically chosen by you from an additional choice of 27 units. These units develop Key Skill Areas, for example, Communication, Working with Others, Problem Solving, Improving, Learning and Performance.

Developing these key skill areas will enable you to:

Manage, and develop yourself and your workforce within the Care Services Sector

Lead and manage the provision of Care Services that respects, protects and promotes the rights and responsibilities of each individual

 Develop and maintain systems, procedures and practices of Care Services, to manage risks and comply with Health and Safety requirements

Lead and manage effective communication that promotes positive outcomes for people within Care Services

Course Materials Provided

You will be provided with course materials that include: a portfolio with all the documentation you need to complete your award. All workshops have specially designed training materials that relate to ‘real life’ work situations to enable you to integrate your learning. Course materials are available to download from the  ‘learner dedicated’ part  of QKL’s website.

QKL Ltd Course Support

As a learner with QKL Ltd you will be allocated a fully qualified and experienced Assessor. The Assessor will support you throughout your course with advice, guidance and will assess your knowledge and skills in the workplace, assisting you in providing the evidence that you are required to successfully complete this course.

In addition you will be required to attend workshops and tutorials with your Assessor to ensure you have the knowledge and understanding required for you to complete your portfolio to obtain the National Vocational Qualification. Ongoing telephone and e-mail support will also be provided.

Is there Funding or part funding available from any source?

If your are in a managerial position in your organisation it may be possible to apply for a leadership grant. QKL can put you in touch with the Brokers for this grant of £1000 towards the cost of your qualification
